This week, Paul Livingstone announced his resignation as 1st XV Head Coach due to work commitments. This was unexpected but the Orkney RFC Committee wish to thank Paul for the commitment and dedication that he has shown over the past two seasons and wish him and his family all the best for the future.
As a result of these circumstances members of Orkney RFC committee have met with G Poke (Captain) and G Coltherd (Vice Pres) and have agreed on an interim Coaching Strategy for the remainder of season 2017/18. With immediate effect the Coaching Team will consist of S Rendall (Forwards), G Poke (Backs) and this will be overseen by G Coltherd.
Thorfinn and Neil have postponed the Kirkwall v Kirkwall Jack Rendall Memorial Cup matches that were planned for Saturday the 3rd March due to player welfare concerns on the icy/snowy pitch and the cold windchill and wintry showers that are forecast during that period. The game will be rescheduled for another date. As a result of the postponement, there will NOT be any Kirkwall Mini Training this Saturday. The next rugby will be the Dounby Tournament on the 10th March so keep an eye on the Facebook page. |
